Dabangg 3 movie 2019 review.
If you’re a fan of Salman Khan, this one should be on top of your list this december season. Because Dabangg 3 is an outright masala entertainer with many moments that’ll make you laugh, peppered with social messages and scenes that celebrate the glory of Bollywood’s favourite Bhaijaan, Salman Khan.
First half.
The dabangg 3 2019 movie starts with an elaborate wedding, where local goons take the people hostage. No surprises here that our beloved Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) comes to their rescue and subjects these goons straight to his own quirky form of justice. Within the first 15 minutes itself, you’re given a heads up that this isn’t the kind of film where you’ll need to look for subliminal meaning or look for logic. It’s an entertainer and it sticks to the promise. The second case that falls into Chulbul Pandey’s lap is of human trafficking. A girl escapes an isolated building in the district and confides in Chulbul and his brother Makhi (Arbaaz Khan), who help rescue these girls. This act enrages the mafia in town, Bali (Sudeep), who is as evil as they make them. He’s got the vibe of a man, who will send a chill down your spine. He’s bad news. But Bali and Chulbul go way back. This is when the film reels into flashback.
We are introduced to Khushi (Saiee Manjrekar), a soft- spoken young girl, who Chulbul falls in love with. With not many dialogue and expressions to give, Saiee puts up a good show in her debut. Khushi lives with her mama and maasi. Her maasi is also Rajjo’s (Sonakshi Sinha) mother. Strangely, Chulbul is not shown to be aware in the earlier films that he is married to his first love’s sister. Anyway, Bali falls in love with Khushi and his unrequited love drives him to kill her and her family. A heartbroken Chulbul is on his journey to avenge his lover. He becomes a cop and kills Bali. How did Bali come out alive? Well, you can look for the answer in the film, but you won’t find it because it’s not there.
Second half.
The second half of the film is all about Chulbul going against Bali in many gruesome action sequences. He’s strong and doesn’t even have a crease on his shirt after fighting almost 10 goons in one scene. The plot does spiral a bit because you’re taken from human trafficking to money laundering and a bit of illegal mining as well. But it’s not important till you’ve got Salman Khan taking off his shirt for a power-packed climax.
Salman Khan goes from gimmicky to intense in seconds. Themovie is proof of his impeccable dance moves. Sonakshi Sinha doesn’t have a lot to do in this film. She reprises her role as Rajjo, the loving yet daredevil wife quite convincingly. Arbaaz Khan makes you laugh as Chulbul’s naive younger brother, who stands the test of time in this film. As for the villain, Sudeep is a show-stealer. He’s got the looks, the body and the rage to get you worried about our protagonist. Saiee Manjrekar has a good start but she still has a long way to go.
Dabangg 3 is Chulbul Pandey’s original story that led him to become the Robin Hood cop. With some loopholes and a little flawed writing, Dabangg 3 does leave you feeling a bit lost in a time when content-driven films are the trick of the trade. But it's a complete entertainer and has a good dose of the Salman Khan's love and there swag.
